With excellent facilities and a beautiful badlands landscape, Medicine Hat has plenty of opportunity to enjoy your leisure time.

Medicine Hat is an active city. The Family Leisure Centre is a 90,000 square foot facility that features an Olympic-sized ice rink, 50m pool, waterslide, diving platforms, kiddies pool, wave pool and cafe. It is currently undergoing an extensive renovation to include an indoor soccer facility, two full-sized basketball courts, a track and improved fitness centre. In the area surrounding the Leisure Centre facility there are several other sporting venues including; 4 ball diamonds, lighted football field, 3 soccer pitches and one of the largest BMX racing facilities in Southern Alberta.
Police Point Park was an early North-West Mounted Police outpost that is now a 300 acre naturalists’ dream.
There are over 100 km of walking and cycling trails in the city with all major parks linked by trail.

The Medicine Hat Tigers are part of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and play at the Canalta Centre – a facility opened in 2015 with seating capacity of 6,600. The Tigers were the 2012 WHL champions and enjoy a proud tradition in Medicine Hat.
The Medicine Hat Mavericks play in the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) and play at Athletic Park, adjacent to the South Saskatchewan River. This summer league attracts talented university athletes from across North America. The Mavericks won the 2014 WMBL championship.
