When designing The Mill, Brost Developments scrapped cookie-cutter plans of the past and created a streetscape with a community feel. Medicine Hat was identified as the most affordable city in Alberta to purchase a home, allowing many millennials to build their dream homes. Depending on customizations, a home in The Mill comes in slightly above Medicine Hat’s average home price, $251, 280 but still significantly lower than the average home price in Calgary, $451, 242.
Each home will be built to Alberta’s new energy efficient building code, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, homes in The Mill will be solar ready high efficiency appliances are included and utilities and property taxes in Medicine Hat are low compared to other Alberta cities.
