Crystal Metz Insurance-State Farm has relocated to the Norwood Professional Centre

August 31, 2018

After 10 years in business, Crystal Metz has found her forever home.

“When I looked at this space it was one big open piece of concrete and I thought: I can make it what I want,” says Metz, who recently relocated her  franchise, Crystal Metz-State Farm, to the Norwood Professional Centre. “After 10 years of owning my insurance company I knew what we needed.”

Given a blank slate, Metz created a chic, modern office with the help of New Rock Developments and the Kitchen Gallery. The space features break-out rooms and offices decorated in posh wallpaper from Freddie’s Paint. A mix of mid-century modern furniture softens the look of polished concrete floors. Large windows flood the space in natural light.

Situated at 2810 13th Ave SE, the Norwood Professional Centre is a three story building offering views of the South Saskatchewan river valley and beyond. The office tower is home to professional services including an accountant, orthodontist, and a travel agency. Neighbourhood businesses include a licensing centre, two major bank branches, Alberta Motor Association, a South Country Co-Op location, and realtors.

Nearby, Royal LePage Community Realty recently opened their expanded office to the public. Owner Bob Kalista added a second floor to repurposed car wash that is now home to 50 real estate agents and assistants.

“Office renovations and relocations like those taking place on the 13th Avenue are a signal of investor confidence,” says Ryan Jackson, CEO of Invest Medicine Hat. “The service sector is growing on the back of an improving economy.”

It’s a sentiment echoes by Metz. “The future is exciting,” she says. “This move is a huge stepping stone and I’m looking forward to it.”
