The City of Medicine Hat Business Support Office reports to the Commissioner of Development & Infrastructure and works as a key point of contact for new and existing business and industry when dealing with the City of Medicine Hat. The Business Support Office ensures relevant economic information is available to assist business and industry as well as supports and monitors the City’s (taxpayer) investments in external economic development service providers.

The Entrepreneur Development Centre helps students and alumni start, manage and grow successful businesses. We answer your questions and give you the resources you need to succeed, partner student entrepreneurs with community mentors, and work with community agencies to help you get started right. APEX is a collaborative initiative of Community Futures Entre-Corp, Medicine Hat College, and Alberta Innovates. APEX strives to support local entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises to develop and adopt new technologies, commercialize innovative new products, improve productivity, and get connected to Alberta’s Innovation System.

Community Futures Entre-Corp is non-profit organization staffed by business professionals and guided by a volunteer Board of Directors.

We provide a wide range of small business services and business management tools for people wanting to start, expand, franchise or sell a business.

Welcome to the Palliser Economic Partnership (PEP), the Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) of Southeast Alberta. Incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 2001, PEP is a regional alliance of communities and businesses that work together to enhance the area’s economic well-being.

The Palliser Economic Partnership is made up of 33 appointed members representing 22 shareholders, who are comprised of urban and rural municipalities and a post-secondary institution.

The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) supports small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in all industries-helping them grow through the development and commercialization of innovative technologies. IRAP provides customized technical and business advisory services, financial assistance and networking and linkage opportunities. It is a vital component of the NRC and one of the Government of Canada’s primary mechanisms in the innovation system.

The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce was founded on May 28, 1900 under the Boards of Trade Act by a group of business people which included bankers, barristers, ranchers, merchants, contractors, physicians, a hotelier, lumber dealer and a butcher. Since that time, this member based organization has been the voice of the business community and has always stood for promoting business, monitoring government and championing managed growth in the local economy.

Today, the interests of over 700 businesses are represented by the Medicine Hat & District Chamber.

We honour our city’s heritage while fostering progress, innovation and entrepreneurship. We are a dynamic bright spot, with an emerging and growing creative culture. And our quality of life truly does shine.
