Having successfully reinvigorated the original Redcliff Bakery, local entrepreneurs Melissa and Joel Graber are rising up the challenge of a second location, taking over the “Sweet Caporal Building” in downtown Medicine Hat.
“We’ve been shopping for the perfect location for over a year now,” said Melissa. “With our friends at Station Coffee and Mad Hatter Roastery, and other young business people opening downtown, we wanted to be part of this up and coming community.”
The Mezz, The Yard and Redcliff Bakery are just a few of the new businesses that have recently joined the downtown community amongst others in the works of opening up.
The City of Medicine Hat has made some significant changes to downtown speed limits, infrastructure, and grant opportunities to encourage growth and stability for our entrepreneurs. The Downtown Development Incentive program was created for the vision of constructing a vibrant downtown and is still available for property owners looking to renovate or build new commercial or residential properties.
Redcliff Bakery’s Medicine Hat location boasts a larger seating area than their original shop. Guests will note custom upholstered chairs by local designer, BurknCo and Sewline Upholstery, custom tables by Sterk Woodworks & Design, plants by Botanicals, macramé creations by The Little Moonstone, hand-painted art by Primrose Layne and wood-crafted charcuterie boards by Billy Blocks.
“So many local businesses inspired us since we took over Redcliff Bakery in 2017,” said Melissa. “The six businesses will be featured on a gallery wall, where our guests can learn about each of the local business owners and their products.”
The new location at #627 – 2nd Street, will be serving up all of the fresh, local favorites including donuts, cinnamon buns, macarons, hamburger buns and bread and more! Need a custom birthday or wedding cake? They have plenty of delicious options and will collaborate with you to ensure your vision comes to life!
