Stringam LLP is building a new office to accommodate the expanding law firm

April 24, 2018

A long-vacant lot on Gershaw Drive is being transformed into the future office of one of Southern Alberta’s fastest growing law firms.

“We’ve expanded to the point where we no longer have any physical space in our current location,” says Kevin Kurtz, regional managing partner at Stringam LLP. “We need a building that accommodates our current staff and workload and provides the opportunity to grow and expand.”

Stringam’s talented team of legal professionals provides a wide range of services, including family and divorce, service rights and immigration. The firm has offices in small centres throughout Alberta, including Grande Prairie and Brooks.

“It’s a combination of services and our team of legal professionals that have allowed us to continue to grow as a firm,” says Kurtz.

Currently located at 35 7th Street SE, Stringam LLP is situated in Medicine Hat’s Southeast Hill neighbourhood, surrounded by retail and professional services.

The new location puts them closer to downtown’s cluster of professional services including the provincial court and Court of Queens Bench.

The project architect is Robert Herano of RKH Architecture. New Rock Developments is the primary contractor while Matulin Concrete is pouring the concrete.

Consistent with the style of commercial buildings downtown, the exterior of the new building will be solid red brick with Manitoba limestone, paying homage to Medicine Hat’s historic brick industry.

“Kudos to the team at Stringam for expanding their footprint in Medicine Hat,” says Ryan Jackson, CEO of Invest Medicine Hat. “As Southeast Alberta’s largest service centre, Medicine Hat makes for a great base of operations for business professionals looking to expand across Western Canada.”

Construction of the new building is underway and Stringam plans to move the growing team into the new office in spring 2019.
